Cyprus in Medieval Times – a Place of Cultural Encounter
Organised by the Institute of Byzantine and Modern Greek Studies and
the Institute for Interdisciplinary Studies – both University of
Münster – the aim of the conference „Cyprus in Medieval Times – A
Place of Cultural Encounter“ (December 6-8 2012) is to shed light on
the multifacited history and culture of Cyprus from Late Antiquity to
the Ottoman conquest in 1571.
In their papers the scholars invited for this conference will analyse
and discuss the island’s political situation within the Eastern
Mediterranean, its cultural development under changing ruling elites
