Call for Applications: Claudio Leonardi Fellowship
The International Society for Medieval Latin Studies (S.I.S.M.E.L.) announces the creation of a fellowship in honour of Claudio Leonardi (1926-2010), its founder and first President.
The grant will allow one scholar (postdoc) to spend a period of one year pursuing research on Medieval Latin culture and texts.
- The fellowship is awarded with a monthly net stipend of 1.500 Euro.
- The fellowship will start on January 2013.
- The fellow will hold two seminars and three lessons in the SISMEL courses during his fellowship.
- SISMEL will publish his/her research at the SISMEL Edizioni del Galluzzo www.sismel.it (on the basis of a peer-review evaluation).
Applications should be submitted, with a curriculum vitae and a description of the research project, by November 15, 2012, via email, to the President of SISMEL, presidenza@sismelfirenze.it.
The SISMEL evaluation committee will take into account the scientific importance and the feasibility of the research project.
The assignment of the fellowship will be made before December 22, 2012.
The fellow will then give a fifteen minute lecture on his/her research during the General Assembly of the SISMEL (Spring, 2013)
